The presence of a tracheostomy or laryngectomy has life-altering implications and caring for these patients can be difficult and often high risk with regards to complications, morbidity and mortality. The literature supports the expertise of a variety of professionals for optimal management of these patients.

This foundational inter-professional series for medical professionals will provide clinical practice recommendations for self-care, respiration, communication, decannulation, and emergency management across the rehabilitation continuum from acute care to living successfully on an outpatient basis. All sessions will include time for a live question and answer and discussion with our interdisciplinary panel of speakers.
