Clinical Educator – Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Midwest

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer centric clinical educator to join our team!
The Clinical Educator executes training priorities for Atos Medical by providing education to patients, caregivers, health care practitioners, and internal staff on the features, benefits, clinical indications and application of Atos products. The therapeutic area of focus will be tracheostomy and laryngectomy. The Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, scheduling, and conducting training in one-on-one and group settings both virtually and in-person. As a clinical ambassador for Atos Medical, this person will connect with stakeholders and healthcare providers to translate key learnings into innovative care products and pathways for both tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients across North America. At the direction of the Clinical Education Manager, the Clinical Educator collaborates with internal cross functional workgroups on projects and initiatives to develop cutting-edge, quality clinical programming and deliverables.

Job Responsibilities for Clinical Educator – Speech Language Pathologist
- Educate and train patients, caregivers, speech pathologists, physicians, respiratory therapists and nurses on clinical application and utilization of our products through one-on-one training, sessions, in-service training, and seminars.
- Provide clinical and product-related training to Atos’ customers via formal in-service presentations and hands-on product training in both the acute, outpatient and operating room settings.
- Collaborate and assist the Atos Medical Territory Sales Managers with product evaluations and the implementation process.
- Provide scheduled and “on-demand” clinical support to internal and external stakeholders on troubleshooting and clinical best practices for patients pre and post tracheostomy and laryngectomy.
- Organize and provide a concise and succinct presentation at local, regional, state, and national healthcare practitioner conferences/symposiums and patient events on Atos Medical technology, product training and clinical applications.
- Research topics by critically examining publications and curating presentations for healthcare provider and patient audiences.
- Provide education and training on current literature of our products to both the inside and outside sales teams.
- Maintain knowledge of current products and services in the industry, specifically those of competitor products.
- Provide constructive, objective feedback to the Product Development team for improvement to current product and development of new products.
- Manage territory activities through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) dashboards and company generated standard and customized reports.
- Participate in manager directed training modules professional development activities.
- Assist with scheduled field personnel training classes.
- Act as an onsite clinical resource at local, regional and state meetings, conferences and exhibits as required.
- Overnight travel required for the position is approximately 25-40% of the time.
- This position requires working closely with hospital personnel and patients and, as such, the individual could be at a higher risk for infections.
- Tuberculosis screening upon employment and every 12 months is required based on exposure.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- M.A., M. Ed., or M.S. in Speech Pathology
- Minimum of 4-5 years direct patient care experience; caring for patients with laryngectomy in the outpatient setting
- CCC-SLP; State license in Speech Pathology in state of residence
- COVID Vaccination or reasonable accommodation
- Hepatitis B vaccine is required.
- The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds for travel/personal luggage purposes
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid Driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in or knowledge of caring for patients with laryngectomy in the acute care setting
- Current and extensive knowledge of laryngeal communication and pulmonary care.
- Experience in or knowledge of tracheostomy anatomy, physiology, breathing and speaking.
Skills
- Independently motivated individual with good organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to collaborate with all members of the clinical and sales team.
- Demonstrates an interest in learning more about innovate medical therapies and technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Group presentation experience required.
