Breathe Implant àWengen
The nasal valve contributes to 50% of the total airway resistance within the respiratory tract when functioning normally. When the nasal valve is narrowing or inspiratory collapse is present, difficulty in breathing might occur. To achieve consistent correction of nasal valvular dysfunction caused by aging, trauma, prior rhinoplasty, and septal anomalies, the Breathe Implant àWengen dilates the nasal valve and permanently stabilizes the lateral soft tissue.
In open rhinoplastic surgery, the Breathe Implant àWengen is placed on the upper lateral cartilage, fixed with non-resorbable sutures and partially covered with the lower lateral cartilage. Four implant sizes fit most anatomic, ethnologic and age-dependent physical variations. Corresponding sizers facilitate the surgeon’s selection of the appropriate model for each patient. The implant is made of pure titanium and is tested to withstand MRI at 7 Tesla.
