FreeVent Tracheostomy Tubes
When using a tracheostomy tube, proper daily care of the tube and the stoma area is important for the general well-being of the user as well as for avoiding infections and skin irritations. The FreeVent® tubes are designed to meet high requirements for comfort, reliability and durability – and they are available in Silver and PUR (Polyurethane).
FreeVent Silver
The silver tubes come in a wide variety of sizes and lengths, as well as with or without fenestration, speech valves etc. All tubes are made of 100% sterling silver, which has an antibacterial effect.
Silver cannulas are especially advantageous when maximum interior diameter is needed or in cases of increased secretion, since adhesion of secretions is minimal to the surface of the cannula.
The tubes are available in a basic version (including outer tube and inner cannula) and with added features, such as: Inner cannula with ISO connector, HME connector, speech valve. There is also a special version with a so called “lobster tail”, a flexible end for maximum comfort.
FreeVent PUR
The tubes are made from tested medical grade polyurethane that is thermosensitive, i.e. softens in body temperature which increases the comfort for the patient. Since the tubes are transparent they are very discreet. FreeVent PUR tubes do not need to be removed for X-ray or cobalt therapy, only the inner tube with silver speaking valves need to be detached. The tubes are available in different versions such as with or without HME connector and/or speech valve.
