Professional instruments
KURZ offers several accessories and instruments for tympanoplasty and stapedioplasty.
ACsizer System
This is a system of sterile single-use sizers for KURZ Tympanoplasty Prostheses to determine the prosthesis length. The sizer provides reliable and safe measurements that help prevent postoperative complications such as dislocation and/or protrusion, and getting the best hearing results. The ACsizer System also contains a working surface, two different cartilage measuring systems and an integrated BELL Expander.
TTP®-VARIO Instrument Set
The Instrument Set is an essential accessory for using TTP®-VARIO prostheses. The instrument is used to affix the head plate securely to the shaft at the predetermined length. The instrument stabilizes and protects the prosthesis during the procedure and provides the accurate length.
Cartilage Precise Knife
The KURZ Precise cartilage knife provides thin, even slices of cartilage; 0.1 to 0.7 mm thick. This excellent tool is highly appreciated not only for covering of middle ear prostheses, but also for repairing tympanic membrane defects and reconstructing the posterior canal wall.
Cartilage Punch
When the incus and stapes superstructure are missing and the footplate is intact and mobile, the ossicular chain is normally reconstructed using a total prosthesis with a stem of ø 0.8 mm. The Cartilage Punch perforates a small cartilage shoe increasing safety and positioning of the KURZ total prosthesis. The hole in the shoe fits the foot of all total prostheses, except the KURZ Regensburg.
