Our lower jaw supports important muscles, joints and teeth vital for chewing, speaking, swallowing and making facial impressions. Any restrictions in our jaw movement and/or pain associated with our jaw may jeopardize these functions and have a negative impact on quality of life.

Problems with the jaw can roughly be divided into Trismus and Temporo Mandibular Disorders (TMD). Patients suffering from these problems are found in many clinical disciplines, including otolaryngology, maxillofacial surgery and prosthodontics, speech and language pathology, radiation oncology, physical therapy, and dental surgery.

Atos Medical AB manufactures the TheraBite® Jaw Motion Rehabilitation System™. It is a portable system specifically designed to treat trismus and mandibular hypomobility.
